7 ‘Uhuru fraudsters’ freed on bail


Seven people who impersonated President Uhuru Kenyatta defrauding a business sh10 million have been freed.
The seven were on Wednesday charged with coning businessman Naushad Merali of Sh10 million but denied the charges.
Nairobi Chief Magistrate Francis Andayi also ordered them to report to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations offices on weekly basis for the next three weeks as well as deposis sh100,000 each.

The group ( Joseph Waswa, Duncan Muchai, Isaac Wanyonyi, William Simiyu, David Luganya, Gilbert Kirunja and Antony Wafula), took the money from one Akif Hamid Butt by falsely pretending they would sell a parcel in Nairobi’s Kilimani area to Sameer Africa. The company is associated with Merali.
