Echesa’s date with the court over sh40 billion firearms fake tender

Former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa alongside 3 other suspects have denied twelve counts in connection with the alleged fake government firearm tender.

The charges include, conspiracy to commit felony, making a document without authority, obtaining money by false pretense, uttering false document and attempt to commit felony.

Lawyers defending Echesa have dubbed this a political witch hunt as they claim there is a lot of political interference.

However, prosecution demands that the accusations of political persecution have to be on record in an affidavit before the State responds.

Echesa is charged alongside three others identified as Daniel Otieno, Clifford Okoth and Kennedy Oyoo.

The accused will face 12 counts as they are being charged with making documents without authority, conspiracy to commit felony, uttering false document and obtaining money by false pretense.
