Governor Iria ends three day Nyanza tour, aides whisper of a possible Presidential alliance


Murang’a Governor who is also the COG Vice Chair Mwangi Wa Iria has concluded his three-day inter county tour in Western and Nyanza regions.

Wa Iria has been in the region meeting leaders from the former Western and Nyanza Provinces for bilateral tals as well as alleged 2022 political plans.

While in Kisumu, Wa Iria and Oparanya formed the Counties Friendship forum which will help promote social, cultural, religious and educational co-operations between People of Great Kakamega and Murang’a Counties.

“Our aim is to make a harmonized relation between the residents Kakamega and Murang’a counties and to establish further links to enhance the mutual relation for development, peace and prosperity.” he stated.

Iria also attended the launch of Kakamega Youth and Women Empowerment Services with CoG Chair Wycliffe Oparanya.

The  launch was attended by the Governor of Siaya Cornell Rasanga, Mandera’s Ali Roba, (Bungoma) Wycliffe Wangamati, (Kisumu) Prof Peter Anyang Nyongo and  Kericho’s Prof Chepkwony.

It is also said that the governor met his supporters as well as members of the recently formed CRP Party, a political outfit he is associated with.

It is not however confirmed what the governor plans to do after end of his second term in 2022 but there are whispers he could vie for the Presidency.
