Governor Kimemia fires his 4 CECs after impeachment motion

Nyandarua Governor Francis Kimemia has sacked four members of his executive at dawn barely minutes after leaving a cabinet meeting.

Those affected were Simon Nganga (water, tourism and natural resources) Muthoni Wamuiya (Trade and cooperatives) Faith Mbugua (Education and Social services ) and Kariuki Mbataru (ICT and Public administration.

It is not known what led to the firing but insiders state that the CECs have been slow on matters implementing the governor’s directives.

“We were given letters stating that what the governor states must be implemented and we have all been doing this except for the four who are accused of allegedly working with our perceived oppostion.” One of the CECs told us.

Director of the Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa Stephen Mwaura Njoroge  Njoroge has been nominated to the position of Education and Social Services, while Ubuntu Life Foundation Director of Partnership and Fundraising Charles Wachira, who unsuccessfully contested for the Ndaragua MP’s seat in the last general election, has been nominated to replace Ng’ang’a in the Water and Environment docket.

Raphael Njui, who vied for the Kipipiri parliamentary seat in 2017, has been nominated to the Trade and Industrialisation docket while Ann Gathigia has been picked to replace Mbataru in the Public Administration docket.

Mbataru was under investigations by a special House committee after a notice of motion to impeach him was tabled two weeks ago, accusing him of abuse of office.
