Here is the Chinese national arraigned in court for selling unvalidated Covid-19 reagents


The Chairman of the Kenya China Chamber of Commerce Zhuo Wu locally known as William was on Wednesday araigned in court for allegedly stocking and selling unvalidated Coronavirus reagents.

William who is the Managing director of Zonken Medical Supplies denied the allegations of stocking Hecin Coivid 19 Igm Antibody Rapid test kit (pack of 50 test kits and Sansure Biotec PCR Nucleic Diagnostic kit against the Medical laboratory Technicians and Technologies Act.

He was supposed to appear alongside 12 others for having committed the crime on June 12th this year at the company offices in Nairobi.

In a second charge, William was accused of distributing the Hecid Vivid _19 Rapid test kits.

The second count reads Distributing unvalidated laboratory reagents contrary to the Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Act.

The prosecution say that on diverse dates between 27 may and 12 th June 2020 at Lexehill villus Wu and others not before Court were found with the unvalidated reagents.

He pleaded not guilty and was freed on a Cashbail  of sh500,000.
