Muranga County Senator Irungu Kangata has stated he fully supports the Beyond Bridges Initiative report signed by President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga.
In a media interview on Tuesday, Kangata said he will be selling the report to the public as it is part of the agendae he has been pushing in the Senate.
“My ward equalization fund proposal was absorbed by BBI. This if enacted, will ensure equitable distribution of resources in all wards across the country and that is why we must support the move.”
This comes as President Uhuru on Monday said he extended the term of the Steering Committee on the Implementation of the Building Bridges, renaming it United Kenya Taskforce Report which will be led by Garissa Senator Yusuf Haji.
“It is notified for the general information of the public that Uhuru Kenyatta, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, has appointed the Steering Committee on the Implementation of the Building Bridges to a United Kenya Taskforce Report,” a part of the notice read.
The team unveiled its report at the Bomas of Kenya on November 27 last year.
