Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru has been impeached over allegations of gross misconducts and abuse of office.

In a rather heated session that led to the ouster of two mcas by Sergeant at arms, twenty three mcas voted for Waiguru’s removal fro office while ten voted for her stay.

Four of the ward reps abstained from the voting while six members were absent.

The impeachment motion was filed by Mutira Ward MCA David Kinyua.

The MCAs had spent the night at the county assembly after swearing they would steer off any intimidation or alleged kidnappings.
