Mzigo utapunguka: Court allows debate of Punguza mzigo bill

The High court has dismissed a petition that was seeking to stop Thirdway Alliance and County Assemblies from debating and enacting the Punguza Mizigo Bill.

This is after Hih Court judge Justice John Mativo on Tuesday dismissed the case which was filed by Bishop David Ngari alias Gakuyo saying it lacked merit.

The court had two weeks ago stooped County Assemblies from debating or approving the Bill fronted by Thirdway Alliance Kenya.

Gakuyo and International Economic Law Centre had sued IEBC on grounds that the Bill was procured through deceit and illegalities since the signatures are not genuine.

The Punguza Mizigo initiative debate will now proceed at the county assembly as planned by the Ekuru Auot led party.
