Nanok on the spot for Appointing Elgeyo resident as Secretary to a County Service Board.

Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok is in trouble after he allegedly appointed an Elegeyo Marakwet resident for the position of secretary to county service board.

The lady in question allegedly finished her term of six years as secretary of Elgeyo Marakwet Public service board.

Turkana youth whom we spoke with allege that the position was being held and reserved for her to finish her term.

“The position of Secretary/CEO to the TURKANA county public Service board has previously been occupied by a person in acting capacity because “there was no local person from Turkana with qualification of Certified Public Secretary”” One of the youth stated.

The disappointed youth have rubbished this remarks saying that some young Turkana men and women are qualified and actually possess the Cabinet Secretary requirements for appointment.

The county youth are now dispirited that the Governor is not fulfilling the employment creation promised during his campaigns.

The youth who sought anonymity want answers why the governor found it wise to appoint a non-local person in a position which should have been used to build, and promote the skills and knowledge of the young and qualified youth from the second largest county in the country.
