President Uhuru Joins Kenyans in Mourning Papa Shirandula

Legendary actor Charles Bukeko, popularly known as Papa Shirandula of the Citizen TV series ‘Papa Shirandula’ has died.

Shirandula passed on Saturday morning at Karen Hospital where he was receiving treatment after a short illness.


Shirandula’s brother-in-law Ronald Wanyama confirmed to the media that the Tv star succumbed to Covid-19.

President Uhuru Kenyatta  sent a message of condolence to the family of Papa Shirandula terming him as a ‘a gifted storyteller whose contribution to the development of Kenya’s entertainment sector will be cherished forever.’

In his message of comfort, the Head of State also wished Kenyans God’s fortitude as the country mourns the departed entertainer.

Politicians, celebrities and leaders of all walks also joined Kenyans on social media in mourning the actor who died at the age of 58.
